Mota Lava

Mota Lava, also Motalava, is an island of the Banks Islands in the north of the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu.

It is located north-east of Vanua Lava and counts as these to Vanuatu Torba Province. Mota Lava is inhabited and even has a small airfield. The 24 km ² island is composed of at least five basaltic volcanoes layer and two pyroclastic cones and reaches a height of 411 meters above the sea. Just 300 meters off the southwest coast lies the island also inhabited by- Ra. Ra and Mota Lava are surrounded by a common coral reef.
