The Motława is a passenger ferry on the Polish Motława River in Gdańsk.

History

The island in the river Ołowianka Motława is now connected by two bridges to the river banks. It is believed that there has been a ferry service between the island and the city since 1687.

The ship

The ferry is built as a double-ended. On each side of a gangway is carried which allows passengers to enter and exit. Furthermore the ferry only a single accessible for persons deck outside, which is, however, covered and some seating offers.

Under the deck there is the machine. The control bridge is above the covered passenger area.

The ferry is mainly used by visitors to the Maritime Museum in Gdansk. The ferry runs every 15 minutes. The crossing takes about a minute.
