Motograter
Motograter is an American nu metal band that was founded in 1995. Your notoriety they have probably achieved by their self-built instrument, the Motograter. History
Foundation, Hugh Chardon and Indy (1995-2001)
Motograter was founded in San Antonio, Texas in 1995 by Bruce " Grater " Butler ( " Motograter " ), Joey " Smur " Krzywonski (percussion ), Chris " Crispy " Binns (drums) and Zak "The Waz " Ward ( vocals) founded. During the recording sessions for the first album ( Indy ) in 2000, Eric Gonzales ( electronics / samples) was added to the band. 2001 was added guitarist Neil Godfrey.
Motograter (2002-2005)
In 2002, Godfrey, Gonzales, and Zak left the band. Matt " Nuke " Nunes joined them as the new guitarist, Ivan " Ghost" Moody as a singer. In 2003, the album was released Motograter at a major label. It was the first album that contained correct guitar samples. Before the album was even released, you named a second guitarist, JR. Zak returned to the tape and was responsible for the Electronics and the samples, and for the back-up vocals. Thus, the band was now siebenköpfig.
However, in the summer Nuke left the band and they remained first to sixth. Later Nuke but has been replaced by Ty Fury. In summer 2004, Ty Fury was in turn replaced by Aaron ( "A- Bomb" ) and allowed also announced that it is working on a new album. A short time later, Zak left the band again. It was decided not to replace him. In autumn 2004 the band was without Bruce and Smur on tour, which drummer Crispy remained the only founding member. Instead of using the " Motograter ", they were supported by bassist Johnny Nailz. This occupation was supposed to exist only for the tour so, but was not yet clear whether Smur and Bruce would return.
Pause and dissolution (2005-2006)
2005 was Motograter announced that you need a break, so some members could focus on their side projects. The band was back together in 2006 and played a single show at the Delicious Rox Festival, on the Ivan the fans and band members made it clear that he would get off at Motograter. Crispy and Ivan and JR, Bruce and Nuke got out of the band. After this performance, it was not clear how it should go on with the band.
Reunification, pre-release, and second album (2008 -present)
In 2009 it was announced that the band is back, with members from Santa Barbara, California. They had now a bassist who played along with the " Motograter ". Angel was now the singer, Nuke and Tyler Hole guitarists, Mylon Guy bassist, drummer Twitch and Bruce played the " Motograter ". This band played a show in Las Vegas under the name "Out Of Curiosity " to test the new material live on an unsuspecting audience, before it was decided to return to take the name of Motograter. In this show the " Motograter " was not used.
Before playing another concert Bruce was replaced by Mark Nosler, whereby no more a founding member was now available. The sound of the band was now also extreme in comparison to earlier recordings. The current demos of the band include electronic sounds, but no percussion, as was previously the case. The use of a traditional bass gives the songs a different, deeper sound.
