Moulinex

Moulinex was a French manufacturer of kitchen and home appliances, which was founded in 1955 by Jean mantelet in Alençon. The name "ex" the French words " Moulin " ( " Mill" ) and - which stands for "Express" - combined, is now used as a brand SEB Group.

History

The company was founded in 1955 by Jean mantelet. The mid-1980s left the founder and head the company. In 1987, at the head of the company General Director Roland Darneau, Finance Director Michel Vannoorenberghe and marketing director Gilbert Torelli.

As part of a general external growth Moulinex bought in 1991, the German company Krups. Among other things, due to the weak global economy, the company got into trouble. The stock price plummeted in late 1995 to 65 francs, but recovered slightly thereafter. In 1997 the plant was closed in Mamers and the share price fell in 1999 to 9.50 euros. On 11 September 2001, the Company reported with about 9,000 employees in insolvency. The allegations denominated mismanagement to blame to globalization. On October 23, the Commercial Court of Nanterre in the Groupe SEB appointed as the administrator of Moulinex. This decision led to massive protests of the workers. Of the eight plants in France had three more close beside the main work in the founding place Alençon, about 5,000 people lost their jobs, 3,700 of them in France. On November 23, signed in 2001, the union whose role is controversial, the severance agreement, providing for the payment 30000-80000 Franc.
