Mount Orab is a village in Brown County, Ohio, United States.
Location
It is located about 19 kilometers north of Georgetown, the county seat of the county. According to residents, it is the largest settlement in the Green Township. In the 2000 census the population was 2,307 inhabitants.
The name is a derivative of [ Mount ] Horeb, the mountain has received on the Moses according to the Bible, the Ten Commandments.
History
The foundation stone for the village put Daniel Keethler on September 3, 1850. The small village grew very slowly at first. This only changed when on 19 April 1877, the Cincinnati & Eastern Railroad reached the village.
1970 to Pastor Jay Carroll here have brought his wife Dolores means of hypnosis to speak xenoglosses German. This was known as case Dolores Jay.
