Mount Pleasant (New South Wales)

Mount Pleasant is a suburb of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia on the western edge of the city on the Southern Freeway between Sydney and Wollongong. It has 906 inhabitants (as of 2006).

History

John Dingwall owned land in what is now Mount Pleasant and renamed it with its current name. Today's Location Mount Pleasant developed after the digestion of the Mount Pleasant Mine in 1861.
