Mount Tsukuba

The Tsukuba (Japanese筑波 山, san ) is a mountain in Tsukuba in Japan. The Tsukuba has two peaks, the Nyotai -san (女 体 山, literally, " female body " ) to the east ( 876 m) and the Nantai -san (男 体 山, literally " male body " ) in the west (870 m). He is one of the most famous mountains of Japan, particularly for its Shinto shrine in the form of a toad.

Many tourists climb to enjoy the mountain from its summit the view of the Kanto - level each year. Unlike most mountains of Japan's Tsukuba is not of volcanic origin, but consists of rocks such as granite and gabbro nichtvulkanischen. History

The Nyotai -san represents the female deity Izanami, the Nantai -san, the male deity Izanagi, the two primal gods of the Japanese creation myth.

In ancient times, took place on the Nyotai -san Kagai.
