Mountain Attack

" Mountain Attack " ( German, Mountain attack ') is the name of the discharged annually Austrian racing competition ski mountaineering in Saalbach. The competition was first held in 1999 and is now known beyond the borders of Austria. The previous participants came from a total of 15 nations.

The aim is to overcome a total of six peaks and more than 3,000 meters above sea level, spread on climbs and descents, across the Glemmtal. There are six racing classes, each for male and female participants a quick tour route and two Marathon ratings on the long path, the age group from 45 years is considered separately. Is started on the village square of Saalbach. For 2008, the implementation of an anniversary celebration of the tenth implementation is planned.

Since 2004, the winner of the title carry Mountain Man.

In the women held from 2002 to 2006 the Annabergerin Simone Hornegger the winning title since 2007 won consecutive Italian Francesca Martinelli the race.
