Movimiento Etnocacerista

Movimiento Etnocacerista or Latinized Etnocacerismus is an ethno- nationalist political movement in Peru.

On the one hand, the group emphasizes the ethnic identity of the Peruvians, here is also on the descent to the indigenous peoples of South America, especially the Inca, pointed, on the other hand, the followers worship the former President Andrés Avelino Cáceres, the opposite in the 19th century, a guerrilla movement, the Chilean occupiers initiated in saltpeter.

The flow calls for more rights for indigenous people under harking back to the Inca, consequently, a disempowerment of European, Asian and Creole elites of the country. It is vehemently against foreign interference received, including those of the old " rivals " of Chile, from, calls for nationalization of key industries and the legalization of coca cultivation.

Popular people out of the flow are two former members of the army, who were involved in a failed coup against the dictatorial ruling President Alberto Fujimori in October 2000, the retired Major Antauro Humala and his brother Ollanta. Most trailers also come from the environment of the army and were just as involved as the border conflict with Ecuador in the 80s and 90s of the last century in the fight against the terrorist organizations of Peru ( Movimiento Revolucionario Túpac Sendero Luminoso and Amaru ). The father of Humala Isaac Humala, is considered the founder of the movement of Etnocacerismus.

The flow is, especially on the part of the left, otherwise some points of the movement supported, in the criticism. In contrast to the political movements behind eg Evo Morales will not seek equal rights of the Indians and of all people, but they have instead an inverted racism as a basis ( superiority of the " bronze race" ).

Ollanta Humala distanced himself therefore of some contents of Etnocacerismus. He founded in October 2005 with the Partido Nacionalista Peruano ( PNP, Nationalist Party of Peru ) and occurred in the 2006 election as a top candidate for the presidency. He lost in the runoff election with 47.47 %, where he was supported by most Etnocaceristen. In 2011 he was elected president of Peru.
