The Viking Grace is a ferry the Finnish shipping company Viking Line. It was built at the shipyard STX Finland in Turku and is the newest ship in the fleet. As a special feature, the ferry has a drive with LNG in order to comply with the Sulphur Emission Control Area rules can. It operates daily services between Stockholm and Turku, Mariehamn where lunch will be run as a stopover and at night Långnäs. The ship can accommodate 2800 passengers and 2375 lane meters for cars and trucks

Construction of the vessel

Start of construction of the ship was on 28 November 2011 at the STX Finland shipyard in Turku with the cutting of the first steel plates. Ship data

The ferry has a total length of 218 m, a width of 31.8 m and a maximum draft of 6.80 m. The ferry is measured with 57 565 GT. Cabins and onboard equipment

On the Viking Grace there are several cabin categories, spread over the decks 5-9, with the higher priced cabins and suites are located in the upper decks. Overall, the ship has 2876 cabin seats.

Deck 9 offer in addition to a conference room area to a duty-free shop, which may only be operated due to the launch of the ports on Åland and the associated privileges. The ferry has six lifeboats, two Fast Rescue Boats of Fassmer and several liferafts and MES four stations.

Route

Currently ( January 2013), the Viking Grace at 7:35 every clock runs tomorrow from Stockholm to Mariehamn achieve at 14:10 clock. After a short stay, the ship continues to Turku. The airport at 19:50 Finnish time clock (UTC 2:00 hours ), also the fuel is bunkered.
