Mu Arae b

My Arae b is an extrasolar planet orbiting the yellow dwarf My Arae every 646.4 days. Due to its high mass is assumed that it is a gas planet.

Discovery

As the majority of exoplanets was also discovered that using the radial velocity method. The planet was from Paul Butler et al. discovered in 2001.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of approximately 1.53 astronomical units at an eccentricity of 0.1% and has a mass of about 534.1 Earth masses and 1.68 Jupiter masses.
