Mudhol ( Kannada: ಮುಧೋಳ Mudhōḷa ) is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka with around 42,000 inhabitants ( 2001 census). Until 1948 it was the capital of the princely state of Mudhol.

Mudhol is located in the Bagalkot District in the north of Karnataka in Deccan Plateau at an altitude of around 550 meters above sea level on the banks of Ghataprabha, a tributary of the Krishna. The city is the capital of taluks (sub - district ) Mudhol. The Bagalkot district capital is 56 kilometers south-east.
