Muhammad Naji al-Otari

Muhammad Naji al - Utri ( b. 1944 in Aleppo, in Arabic محمد ناجي العطري, DMG Muḥammad al - ʿ Nāǧī UTRI, also Mohammad Otri ), was from 10 September 2003 to March 29, 2011 Prime Minister of Syria.

Life

Muhammad Naji al - Utri completed his studies in mechanical engineering in 1967 from Aleppo and his architecture degree in 1972 in the Netherlands. He was chairman of the City Council of Aleppo from 1983 to 1987, Chairman of the Engineering Association of Aleppo from 1989 to 1993 and governor ( muḥāfiz ) of Homs von 1993 to 2000.

In March 2000 he became a member of the central committee of the Baath Party, while Deputy Prime Minister. In June of the same year he became a member of the " Regional Command " of the Baath Party, which is the highest governing body of the party. He was elected in March 2003 to the Speaker of the Syrian Parliament, this position he held until September 2003. He is a longstanding member of the Baath Party and speaks fluent English and French.

Al - Utri occurred during the protests in Syria 2011 on 29 March 2011, together with his cabinet, back.

Muhammad Naji al - Utri is married and has four children.
