Mukhtar Ashrafi
Mukhtar Aschrafowitsch Aschrafi (. * 29 Maijul / June 11 1912greg in Bukhara, . † December 15, 1975 in Tashkent, Russian Мухтар Ашрафович Ашрафи ) was an Uzbek- Soviet composer, People's Artist of the USSR ( 1951) and winner of two Stalin prizes ( 1943, 1952).
Life
From 1934-36 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1948 he completed his studies at the Faculty of the Leningrad Conservatory. Since 1944 he was a lecturer, from 1953 professor at the Tashkent Conservatory. As artistic director and chief conductor of the Uzbek Theater of Opera and Ballet in Tashkent, he wrote the first Uzbek opera " Buran". In addition to other orchestral works, he also wrote ballet and film scores. In ashrafees former home in Tashkent today Aschrafi - museum.
