Multimedia over Coax Alliance

The Multimedia over Coax Alliance ( MoCA ) is an association of producers and a space created by their eponymous standard for broadband data transmission in home networks over existing coaxial cable.

The MoCA was founded in 2004 and includes more than 100 manufacturers, including AT & T, Broadcom, Freescale, Infineon, Intel, LG, Linksys, Motorola, Netgear, Panasonic, Samsung, STMicro, Texas Instruments and Verizon. Version 1.0 of the physical layer was adopted in February 2006.

MoCA since 2009 recommendation of the Digital Living Network Alliance.

On 15 June 2010 MoCA 2.0 was ratified, which can supply you with different modes net throughputs of up to one gigabit / second. - The " Basic " mode processes up to 400 Mbit / s ( 700 gross) or 500 to 800 Mbit / s ( 1.400 gross) in point-to -point mode, the "Enhanced " mode or 1 Gbit / s point to point.
