The Multimedia University ( MMU) is a private university based in the state of Malacca, Malacca and Cyberjaya, the Multimedia Super Corridor in the state of Selangor in Malaysia. The university received in 1996 the university status and is the oldest private university in Malaysia. The focus of education at the University is on information technology and multimedia.
History
The Multimedia University was founded in 1994 as the Institute of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Telekom Malaysia. With 42 students of the operation began. Were offered at the beginning of two years of engineering studies. In 1996, she received the university status and was the first private university in Malaysia. The goal was to create the campus in the Multimedia Super Corridor, a similar constellation as between Stanford University and Silicon Valley.
