Municipality of Brda

Brda (Italian: Collio, German: In the corners ) is a municipality in the region of Primorska, Slovenia. The administration of the municipality is located in the village of Dobrovo, in which one built around 1600 castle stands.

Geography

The municipality of Brda is located in the extreme west of Slovenia, between the river Soča and the border river Idrija. In the group consisting of 45 villages and hamlets total community Brda 5,767 people live.

In the hilly landscape much wine is grown. The wine cellar Brda, which was built in 1957, with 18 million liters of wine the largest wine cellar in Slovenia.
