The Muonio älv [ muɔniɔ ɛlv ] ( Swedish) or Muonionjoki [ muɔniɔnjɔki ] (in Finnish ) is a river in Lapland.

It arises near the place Markkina by the confluence of the Könkämäeno and Lätäseno and ends after 230 kilometers near Pajala in the Torne älv ( Tornionjoki ) opening at Tornio in the Gulf of Bothnia. Together with the Könkämäeno and the Torne älv it forms the border between Sweden and Finland.

In Kolari the river island Kolarinsaari is circled älv by the two arms of the Muonio. In the eastern branch of the river flows, the left tributary Ylläsjoki.
