Muraenolepis microps

The Aaldorsche ( Muraenolepis ) are the only genus in the same family of cod -like fish ( gadiformes ). It involves eight described species that live in the Southern Ocean on the continental shelf, especially the Antarctic.

Features

Aaldorsche be 22-40 inches long. In the body shape they resemble eels and also the fin assembly as Flossensaum, which consists of the second dorsal fin, tail fin and the anal fin is similar. The pelvic fins are however constantly and ply throat and front of the dorsal fin is located one or two fin rays, the reduced remnant of the first dorsal fin. Another characteristics they possess barbels on chin. Your gill openings are narrow and are only up to the pectoral fin base. The head of the vomer is toothless, Pylorusschläuche missing. Probably the Aaldorsche are an original family of the order gadiformes.

In addition to these types, there are probably more that have not yet been described.
