Murō Saisei

Muro Saisei (Japanese室 生 犀 星; born August 1, 1889 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, † March 26, 1962 in Tokyo ) actually Muro Terumichi (室 生 照 道), was a Japanese poet, storyteller and novelist.

Life

Muro was born the illegitimate son of a former Feudalbeamten and adopted at the age of 6 years from a priestly family. He left primary school without any qualifications held various activities and settled in 1910 in Tokyo. Here he began to write poetry with free verse. He founded in 1916 together with Hagiwara Sakutaro the poetry magazine KANJO (感情).

Under the influence Akutagawa he turns from 1919 to prose. At the end of his creative life is a life no report Kagero nikki Ibun, reflecting the image of their mother overlaid with the other women and the deep longing is designed after her.
