Action
The film tells an episode from the youth of the actor George Hamilton in the early 1950s. George and Robbie are the sons of Dan and Anne Devereaux. One day Anne caught her husband red-handed having an affair with a younger woman and leaves Dan with their sons. With the little money that has the small family, she buys a Cadillac, and the three are on their way from New York to Boston. There, Anne hopes to find a new husband who can provide for them and their children. The first relationship with a U.S. military but fails at its authoritarian behavior towards their sons. In Pittsburgh, the search fails, as Anne is arrested in a hotel for a night on suspicion of prostitution. The lack of money leads them back to her sister in St. Louis. Here Anne must work in her life and learns to know a contractor alleged for the first time. However, the relationship fails on the day of engagement. It turns out that the marriage candidate is mentally confused and had many women already promised to marry, but is actually already married.
Disappointed by this another failure, Anne rescheduled to leave the city and head for California.
