Myriam Baverel

Myriam Baverel ( born January 14, 1981 in Chambéry ) is a former French Taekwondoin.

Baverel participated in international competitions since 1997. But at the Junior European Championships in Patras and the European Championships in Eindhoven in 1998 she dropped out after their first start fighting. She qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, where they 67 kg reached the quarterfinals in the class, but there was eliminated against Adriana Carmona. Their first international medal Baverel won at the 2003 World Championships in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. In the class to 72 kilograms, they reached the finals against Luo Wei and won the silver medal. The following year Baverel celebrated her sporty greatest success. She qualified in class 67 kg for her second Olympic Games in Athens. There, she reached the semi-finals with two opening victories where they beat Nadin Dawani scarce. In the final against Chen Zhong they ultimately lost significantly and won silver.

After the games Baverel ended her active career. As head of youth courses they remained Taekwondo transferred.
