Nadja Higl at the European Swimming Championships 2010 in Budapest

Nadja Higl ( Serbian Cyrillic Нађа Хигл, also Nadja Higl written; born January 2, 1987 in Pančevo ) is a swimmer from Serbia. Higls father comes from Travnik.

Career

The coached by her brother Sebastijan Higl breast swimmer took at the Short Course European Championships 2007 in Debrecen, Hungary, for the first time in an international competition. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing she swam both the 100m and 200m breast, but did not in both distances via the feed addition.

It achieved its biggest sporting success at the World Swimming Championships in 2009. Surprisingly, she sat down in the 200 m breaststroke final with a new European record by thus securing the gold medal. About 100 meters she was also at the start, but had to be content with 16th place. In the Summer Universiade 2009 in Belgrade, she won the silver medal in the 100 and 200m breaststroke. In the Short Course Swimming World Cup 2009 in Durban she took first place in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:20,41 minutes.
