Nabil Maâloul

Nabil Maaloul (Arabic نبيل معلول; born July 25, 1962) is a former Tunisian football player and current coach. Since 2014 he is at Al- Jaish in the highest Qatari football league, the Qatar Stars League, under contract.

Career

Maaloul began his career in 1981 Espérance Sportive de Tunis, where he remained until 1989. At the Summer Olympics in 1988 in Seoul, Korea, he reached the youngest player of his team with the national team in ninth place. In total, he scored two goals in the group matches. In 1989 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Hannover 96, where he remained for two years and completed a total of 28 compulsory games in which he scored two goals. After he went to Espérance Sportive de Tunis for three years back, he moved in 1994 to CA Bizerte, where he, however, only a year was under contract. In 1995 he moved to CA Tunis. In 1999 he moved to the end of his career to Saudi Arabia to Al -Ahli Club. In 2000, he finished his career at the age of 38 years.

With the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany, he was assistant coach of the Tunisian national football team. Since December 27, 2010 he is the coach of the Tunisian championship record ES Tunis. In 2011 he won with the team the league and cup double. On January 22, 2014, he was appointed successor to Razvan Lucescu at Al- Jaish in the Qatar Stars League.

Curiosities

Nabil Maaloul one of the few footballers in the history of Tunisia's Esperance Sportive de played both Tunis and Club Africain Tunis. Both top clubs from the capital Tunis harbor one of the greatest rivalries of the Arab and African football.
