Nadim Sawalha

Nadim Sawalha (Arabic نديم صوالحة; * September 1935 in Madaba, Jordan ) is a British film and stage actor.

Life

Can only be speculated about the exact date of birth of Nadim Sawalha, since it does not know itself Sawalha to the day. Presumably he was born between September 7 and 9, 1935. His brother Nabil Sawalha 's now an actor and also works at The Theatre of Political Satire in Jordan.

Sawalha, whose father was a British citizen, attended the English School in Amman, before he received a scholarship to the Rose Bruford College of Speech & Drama in England. Here Sawalha studied acting; he graduated in 1956. early engagements at the theater and followed the radio. 10 years he worked for the Arab partners transmitter of the British Broadcasting Corporation ( BBC). From 1965 to 1967 Sawalha lived for two years in Jordan, where he was instrumental in setting up and promoting theater groups. Also counted Sawalha of the founding members of the Jordan National Theatre. Immediately after the outbreak of the Six-Day War Sawalha returned to London.

Sawalha is now a sought-after actor when it comes to embody Arab -looking characters in Hollywood films. He also embodied -known historical figures such as Mohamed Al -Fayed, Melchior and King Hussein I.. One of his last roles he took on Captain Abu Raed 2007, where he was presented both in Dubai but also in the Newport Beach Film Awards, California.

Nadim Sawalha is now married to the British Roberta Lane; the couple has three daughters, of whom Nadia Sawalha Julia Sawalha and are also an actor. His third daughter Dina now works as a ballet dancer.
