Nador

Nador ( Berber: Ennaḍur, Arabic الناظور ) is the capital of the eponymous province in the northeastern Morocco in the area of the western Mediterranean. Nador is one of the fastest growing cities in Morocco.

Location

Nador is located on the eastern edge of the Rif Mountains and is known for its proximity to the 12-km northern Spanish enclave of Melilla. Landscape formative lagoon Mar Chica ( Bhar Amezzyan ), lies on the western bank of Nador and the Jbel volcanoes Sebt ( Gurugú ) and Jbel Tazoud (cf. Tazoudasaurus ).

Traffic

Nador is good transport reached: There is an international airport ( IATA code NDR), which also maintains connections to Germany, one was opened in 2009 by train ( Beni Ansar Taouirt ) with connection to the main line Rabat- Oujda and an international ferry port to Almería and Marseille. Road and motorway links exist with Oujda ( about 135 km south-east ) and Guercif ( about 135 km southwest). It provides direct motorway links to Central Morocco (Fez, Meknes ) and on to the big cities on the Atlantic ( Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier ).

Airport

Nador Airport ( Aéroport French Nador -Al Aroui ) is a Moroccan airport in Nador on the Mediterranean coast. It lies in the east of the country in the area of the Rif mountains, near the Spanish enclave of Melilla. Flight connections to the German-speaking offer Royal Air Maroc (after Frankfurt and Dusseldorf ) ryanair ( Frankfurt Hahn ) and Air Arabia Maroc ( Cologne / Bonn). German Wings took on the route Cologne / Bonn- Nador by Air Berlin. As of March 30, 2012, she is operated once a week and even twice a week starting in June.

Economy

The economy of the city of Nador and its hinterland was formerly mainly from fishing and agriculture. History

In earlier centuries there were probably a pirate base. Various Muslim rulers of Morocco took advantage of the relatively flat terrain around Nador as a parade ground for its - ultimately unsuccessful - attempts to recapture Melilla.

Others

Nador is the location of the transmitter of Radio Medi 1, a major end system for long - and short- wave. At the transmitter, inter alia, includes a directional antenna for long wave, which consists of three 380 m high guyed lattice steel masts.
