Naftogaz

NAK Naftohas Ukrajiny (Ukrainian HAK Нафтогаз України, scientific transliteration Naftogaz, Russian Нафтогаз Украины, Naftogaz Ukrainy ) is the Ukrainian state energy company in the oil and gas market operates. Naftohas employs approximately 170,000 employees and generated according to government figures, 1/8 of the GDP of Ukraine.

Internationally, the Naftogaz even used by the company, based on the Russian spelling, transcription is in use. In German-speaking z.T. is the transcription Naftogaz used. The name is derived from the Ukrainian word for " oil " ( naphtha) and "gas" ukrainian Газ (Transcription Has ).

The company trades as a stock corporation ( Ukrainian abbreviation: NAK).

History

Naftohas gained notoriety because the company in the Russian- Ukrainian gas dispute in 2005 - and in later years was - the negotiators and often the counterparty to the Russian company Gazprom. Also in the internal political struggles of Ukraine Naftohas played an important role.

In 2011, announced Yuriy Boyko, Ukrainian Minister of Fuel and Energy, to the rapid restructuring and subsequent privatization of Naftohas. This step is intended to supply the Budget of Ukraine 10 to 12 billion U.S. dollars.
