Nahanni Butte

Nahanni Butte ( Slavey: Tthenáágó " strong rock ") is a " Designated Authority " in the Dehcho region of the Northwest Territories, Canada. It lies at the confluence of the Liard and South Nahanni River in the southwestern part of the NWT. It is built an all-weather road. At the moment, every winter is constructed a winter road.

Dick Turner, among others trapper, bush pilot and shopkeepers, retired in 1930 from Calgary to en Nahanni Butte. He wrote three books.

The census of 2006 counted 115 inhabitants.

The Dene of the community are represented by the Nahanni Butte Dene band and belong to the Dehcho First Nations on.
