Nahouri Province

Nahouri is a province of the West African country of Burkina Faso. It is located in the region of Centre- Sud in the south of the country on the border with Ghana and covers an area of 3,862 km ².

The province consists of five departments Guiaro, Pô, Tiébélé, Zecco and Ziou. The provincial capital is Pô. With 155 463 inhabitants ( 2006 census ), the province has a relatively low population density ( 39 inhabitants per km ² ), due to the settlement history of the population, however, is very unevenly distributed in the departments.

In the area of ​​present-day province settled two ethnic groups: The Nankana and Kassena. These dominate today. Next to them Mossi and Fulani living in the province.
