Naildown

Naildown is a Finnish band from Helsinki. They played until 2005 under the name Acid Universe. The band is to be compared with the music of Children of Bodom or Soilwork, with the exception that singer Daniel Freyberg mainly sings clear.

History

Easter 2003 founded Harri Heikkinen and Jarmo Puikkonen the band Acid Universe. Looking for new members, they met singer Daniel Freyberg and bassist Matti Hämäläinen. She recorded two demos together, they managed to get hold to a contract with the Finnish record label Spinefarm Records. In March 2005, their first single Eyes Wide Open to the then a music video was shot appeared. Half a year later the debut album World Domination appeared. Shortly thereafter, Harri Heikkinen left the band, which was replaced by Janne Jukarainen ( ShamRain, Hanging Garden ). On 14 February 2007 another single was released under the name of Judgement Ride, which was to obtain only on the Internet.

On March 14, 2007, the second album Dream Crusher, which was elected shortly thereafter stalkermusic.com album of the week appeared. To the the band played, among others, on the Tomahawk Festival in Osnabrück and launched a European tour with Ensiferum and Suidakra. In November 2007 it was announced that keyboardist Jarmo Puikkonen, has for small discrepancies with what the band and past achievements, has left the band. In spring 2008, the band announced that they are looking for a new keyboard player. They were also nominated for the Finnish Metal Awards and included a contract with the leading Finnish entertainment company King Foo Entertainment, which has metal bands like Nightwish, Finntroll or Amorphis are under contract.

In summer 2008 the band decided to insert a " creative break " and to turn fully to the third album. However, in September of the same year parted ways from Naildown and drummer Janne Jukarainen. Janne justified his resignation from the band as follows:

"During the last shows in the summer, I've noticed that what we do is not really that's what I want, but I waited for the " creative pause to listen " to my feelings. But just at this time it became clear to me that I am no longer 100 % for and with Naildown one. And for me is true 100 % or not at all. So it's the only right thing for me when I leave the band.

I want my friends Daniel, Asko and Matti for which perhaps the best moments in my life that I will ever have, to thank. We had some good moments that I will never forget.

On 11 August 2009, the band announced that Heikki Saari ( Norther, Force Majeure, Tuoni ) new drummer of Naildown is. A new keyboardist has still not been found up to this point.
