Nan Hayworth

Nan Alison Sutter Hayworth ( born December 14, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American politician. From 2011 to 2013 she acted as the New York State Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Nan Alison Sutter, so her maiden name, grew up in Munster (Indiana). In 1977 she graduated from the local high school. She then studied until 1981 at Princeton University. This was followed up in 1985 to study medicine at the Medical College of Cornell University in Ithaca. She specializes in ophthalmology and worked 1989-2005 in this profession. In 1981 she married the doctor Scott D. Hayworth, the head of the Mount Kisco Medical Group. The couple has two sons.

In the congressional elections of 2010, Hayworth was voted for Republicans in the 19th Election District of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she became the successor of their previously defeated Democrat John Hall on January 3, 2011. Since she lost in 2012 against Sean Patrick Maloney, she divorced on 3 January 2013 the Office. Nan Hayworth was a member of the Finance Committee and three subcommittees. You currently considering to compete for a seat in her former seat again at the next regular congressional election of 2014.
