Nana Akwasi Asare

Nana Akwasi Asare ( born July 11, 1986 in Kumasi ) is a Ghanaian football player. Since the summer of 2013, the defender is at Belgian club KAA Gent under contract.

Career

Association

Asare was in the Feyenoord Academy, a soccer academy from Feyenoord in Ghana, trained. In 2003 he was taken from the main club in the Youth Academy in Rotterdam. At first missions at senior level, he came in the 2004/05 season, when he was loaned to the Belgian second division club Royal Antwerp. From 2005 he played at KV Mechelen, for two years on loan to Feyenoord in the second division. After the club rose to the Jupiler League in 2007, he was firmly committed. After another year in Belgium, it drew the defensive player for the season 2009/10 back to the Eredivisie. It is where the FC Utrecht took them under contract. 2013 he moved to Belgium back to KAA Gent.

National

Asare was in the squad at the African Cup 2008 in Ghana, came during the tournament but not used. His debut in the national team, he was already in September 2007 in a friendly against Morocco in Rouen, France.
