Nana Caymmi

Dinahir "Nana" Tostes Caymmi ( born April 29, 1941 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian singer.

Life

Nana Caymmi Dorival Caymmi is the daughter of, the world-famous composer, and singer Stella Maris. Her siblings Dori and Danilo Caymmi were also musicians. In 1960 she made ​​her first recordings and also came to some appearances on television.

In 1961 she married the doctor José Gilberto Aponte Paoli, with whom she lived in the next few years in the Venezuelan capital Caracas. There, in 1962 and 1963, their daughters Stella Caymmi Teresa Paoli and Denise Maria Caymmi Paoli came into the world. Their first album " Nana " was released in 1963. Marriage and musical ambitions of Nana Caymmi proved to be difficult to reconcile, and so she returned to Rio de Janeiro, where in 1966 her son João Gilberto Caymmi Paoli was born.
