Nancy Allen (actress)
Nancy Anne Allen ( * June 24, 1950 in New York City ) is an American actress.
Life and career
Allen grew up in the New York suburb of Yonkers, her father was a policeman. She attended the High School of Performing Arts, to prepare for the planned career as a dancer. Later she attended the School for Young Professionals Jose Quintanos.
Her first film role was Allen in 1962, at the age of 15 she appeared in television advertising. In the movie The Last Detail (1973 ) she starred opposite Jack Nicholson in 1976 and turned for the film company United Artists, the Stephen King adaptation Carrie - Satan ' youngest daughter. In the film comedy 1941 - Which way leads to Hollywood (1979 ) Allen acted alongside Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. In the film Dressed to Kill (1980 ) by Brian De Palma, she played alongside Michael Caine and Angie Dickinson, for this role, she was just nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress as well as for the anti- price Razzie. For her role in the movie The Philadelphia Experiment (1984 ) she was nominated for a Saturn Award, for roles in the films RoboCop (1987) and RoboCop 3 (1993 ) made additional nominations for the Saturn Award. This was followed by a role in the film The Man who never died (1994 ) on the side of Roger Moore.
Allen was married from 1979 to 1983 with Brian De Palma, and from 1992 to 1998, Craig Shoemaker. Later she married Randy Bailey.
