The Nara (Russian Нара ) is a 158 km long left tributary of the Oka in the European part of Russia.

Course

The Nara has its origin in the lake Polezkoje (Russian Полецкое озеро ) in the southwest of Moscow ridge, approximately 50 km west of Moscow in the west of Moscow Oblast. A few kilometers south it flows through the Nara ponds (Russian Нарские пруды ) before it continues to flow in a southerly direction through the densely populated Moscow region. About 15 kilometers east of Balabanovo the river crossed the border to Kaluga Oblast. Hydrology
