Nargis

Nargis ( Hindi, नर्गिस, Nargis, born June 1, 1929 in Allahabad, † 3 May 1981 in Kolkata ) was an Indian film actress.

Life

Nargis was born with the name Fatima A. Rashid. Since 1934, she performed in films, first in productions of their parents, from 1943 she played adult roles and was published six years later at the age of 20 years a movie star. She had her breakthrough in 1949 with Andaz by Mehboob Khan on the side of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor.
