The Birkigsbach (also Auegraben ) is a left tributary of the Kinzig in the district of Aschaffenburg and Main- Kinzig district, in Hesse, Bavaria and Vorspessart. It rises as Näßlichbach between Geiselbach and pottage - Waldrode and flows Niedermittlau in the Kinzig.

Course

The Näßlichbach arises between Geiselbach and Waldrode along state road in 2306, right on the border between Bavaria and Hesse. It first flows towards the southwest in the protected landscape area Näßlichgrund. This was formerly regarded as the northern boundary Sölzert. From Geiselbach flows to the Näßlichbach the Bude me ditch. Opposite the mouth of which is the Horbacher Mariengrotte. Shortly before Horbach fed the Näßlichbach the local water stream. The drainage of gondola pond reached the creek there from the left. The Näßlichbach then flows through the town. On the western outskirts opens him to the quick Mich. Bach. It runs west towards Altenmittlau. From the village it bears the name Birkigsbach.

In Altenmittlau the Birkigsbach bends to the north. To the northwest of the district of Weis me stream flows to him. From there on he divides several times. The Birkigsbach crosses under the road at Niedermittlau 3296 (formerly the Federal Road 40 ) and the Kinzig Valley Railway and flows between Niedermittlau and Langenselbold near the Spakebrücke from the left in the Kinzig.
