Natalia Lavrova

Natalya Alexandrovna Lawrowa (Russian Наталья Александровна Лаврова, scientific transliteration Natal'ja Aleksandrovna Lavrova; * August 4, 1984 in Penza, † 23 April 2010 Penza) was a Russian rhythmic gymnast and two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Lawrowa competed for Dynamo Penza. In her first Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she won at the age of 16 years together with Irina Belova, Marija Netessowa, Vera Schimanskaja, Irina silver and Jelena Schalamowa the gold medal in the team competition. Four years later in Athens Lawrowa became the sole remaining Olympic champion from 2000 with Olesja Belugina, Olga Glazkich, Tatjana Kurbakowa, Jelena Mursina and Jelena Possewina again the gold medal in the team competition.

After the end of their active career, she has been a trainer and looked after young talents in the Olympic reserve center in Moscow.

On 23 April 2010 Natalia Lawrowa came at the age of 25 years in a traffic accident.
