Nathaniel Giles

Nathaniel Giles ( Gyles also; * in 1558 in or near Worcester, † January 24, 1633 in Windsor ) was an English organist and composer.

He was the son of the organist Thomas Giles and looked after his education at Oxford as an organist at the cathedral of his hometown. In 1585 he was appointed to St. George 's Chapel in Windsor, next to Westminster Abbey burial church of the English kings. He was here working as organist and choirmaster and held this post until his death. At the same time he worked since 1596 as a boys' choir director at the Chapel Royal in London.

He created primarily vocal music, including 20 anthems and motets six in Latin.
