The National Academy of Music " Prof. Pancho Wladigerow " ( Bulg Националната музикална академия " Проф. Панчо Владигеров ", abbreviation ДМА ) is a college of music in Sofia. The Academy was named after the Bulgarian composer Pancho Wladigerow, who taught for almost forty years at the Institute as a professor.
The Academy of Music was July 21, 1921 by a decree of the Bulgarian Tsar Boris III. as Bulgarian State Conservatory ( Bulg Българска държавна консерватория ) was founded. After the Conservatory is dedicated to the composer Wladigerow since 2 March 1995 it carries the current name since May 2006.
The Academy is housed in two buildings and offers 30 degree programs in three faculties. While a faculty mainly offers music theory, composition and conducting, it is formed instrumental in the second and in the third in song, dance, ballet and jazz - pop.
