National Basketball League (Australia)

The National Basketball League ( NBL ) is an Australasian professional basketball league with nine teams from the states of Australia ( eight teams ) and New Zealand ( a team). It is by far the best Basketball League in Oceania and heard in an international comparison of the top 20 The League was founded in 1979 in Australia.

Record holder is a non-existing franchise could accumulate under the names of St. Kilda Saints, North Melbourne Giants and South East Melbourne Magic a total of six titles. Most successful franchises still in existence are the Perth Wildcats and the Adelaide 36ers, both have previously won the title four times.
