National Panhellenic Conference
The National Panhellenic Conference ( NPC) was founded in 1902. It serves as an umbrella organization of female connections ( sororities ) among the fraternities and sororities in North America.
About the independent Greek -letter fraternity houses compounds the NPC are represented at 620 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. There are over 4600 connection vintages with over 3.6 million members worldwide.

History
Border cooperation female connections existed even longer, due to the further intensification of the need for a common umbrella organization was recognized. Therefore, in 1902 invited the members of Alpha Phi connection other compounds to a conference on May 24 in Chicago a. We invited representatives of Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Delta Delta, Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega. The representatives of Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega were prevented, but the remaining seven compounds founded an umbrella organization, and later helped in the establishment of the National Interfraternity Conference in 1909 for the male connections, the later North - American Interfraternity Conference.
On 12 November 1947, the compounds of the Association of Pedagogical the NPC sororities joined, but some are now out in other Dachorganisiation.
