National Route 1A (Vietnam)

The National Road 1A ( Vietnamese: Quốc QL1A Lo 1A, abbreviated, or đường 1) is the North - South Vietnamese highway. It begins in the north with km 0 at Huu Nghi Quan border crossing ( Cua Khau Hữu Nghi Quan) on the border with China and ends at km 2301 near the village of Nam Can Ngoc Hien district in the province of Ca Mau. The QL1A is part of the Asian Highway 1 in the Asian Highways Project.

History

We started the construction of the National Road 1 of the French colonial power in the early 20th century. It was expanded in recent years with Japanese ODA funds and loans from the World Bank.

During the Indochina War and the Vietnam War, the road was very competitive.
