Naughty Dog
Naughty Dog (Eng. " Naughty Dog" ) is an American video game developer that was founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. Since 2001, Naughty Dog is a studio of Sony Computer Entertainment.
Naughty Dog was founded in 1986 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin with 16 years as JAM Software. The first title was a ski game called Ski Crazed for the Apple II was followed in 1988, a graphic adventure called Dream Zone, which is the first game supported the VGA standard.
In 1989 the album Keef the Knief, which was distributed by Electronic Arts. During this time, JAM changed software, before the appearance of Keef the Knief, his name in Naughty Dog. In 1992 Rings of Power was released for the Sega Mega Drive and the Sega Genesis.
Subsequently parted them both, as Andy Gavin began studying at MIT and Jason Rubin moved to Newport Beach, and the company went bankrupt. But already in 1993 found Naughty Dog in Boston back together and developed Way of the Warrior for the 3DO. Universal Interactive Studios took the title and expelled him in 1994. Sure Naughty Dog signed with Universal a contract for three projects and moved to Los Angeles. One of the projects was Crash Bandicoot, which meant the breakthrough for the company.
Breakthrough
Developed in 1996, Naughty Dog Crash Bandicoot (working title: Willy the Wombat ) for the PlayStation. The figure became an unofficial mascot for the console. Two sequels and a Fun Racer followed. Overall, the Crash series has sold 21.5 million times. In January 2001, Sony declared that they buy Naughty Dog.
After the crash parts Naughty Dog developed the computer game series Jak and Daxter, which appeared for the PlayStation 2.
This was followed by the Uncharted series on PlayStation 3 Overall, the PS3 -exclusive Uncharted series has sold 13 million times. On a worldwide sales list of over 8500 games is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on place 204 with 4.11 million, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves on place 118 with 5.44 million and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception on place 278 with 3.46 million sales.
On December 10, 2011, Naughty Dog announced in a press release to the development of The Last of Us, a blend of survival horror and action-adventure. Shortly thereafter, a trailer was released with the first game impressions. The game was released on June 14 2013.Darauf followed on 14.November.2013 at the Spike Video Awards a teaser of a new part of the Uncharted series.
