Navin Ramgoolam

Navinchandra Ramgoolam (* July 14, 1947 ) is the reigning Prime Minister of Mauritius. It was 1995-2000 Prime Minister and was re-elected on 5 July 2005, after his Alliance Sociale ( a coalition of his Mauri Transportation Labour Party, the Mauritian Transportation Party of Xaiver -Luc Duval, and several smaller groups) the then Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth from the Militant Socialist Movement was defeated in the elections of July 3.

He is the son of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the "father " of the nation. He studied medicine in Dublin and 1977, he received the approval by the General Medical Council UK. He later received a master's degree in law yet, but he never worked as a lawyer.
