Necdet Özel

Necdet Özel ( born 1950 in Ankara) is a general of the Turkish Armed Forces. On 4 August 2010 he became commander of the Jandarma ( military police). After July 2011, the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Işık Koşaner and the commanders of the armed forces were withdrawn together, appointed Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan 29 July 2011 Ozel as the new commander in chief of the Army and Acting Chief of Staff.

4 August 2011 President Gül approved the appointment Özels Chief of Staff.
