Nechervan Idris Barzani

Nechirvan Idris Barzani, Kurdish: Nêçîrvan Idris Barzani (born 1966 in the province of Arbil / Iraq) is a Kurdish politician.

Barzanî is the grandson of the founder Mustafa Barzani and KDP - nephew of the current President of the Kurdistan Masud Barzani Autonomous Region. His first name means Nêçîrvan hunters. In 1974 he and his family left Iraq and migrated to Iran from. He studied in 1984 at the University of Tehran in politics, but three years later his father died suddenly Idris Barzani, so he broke off the study. He often accompanied his father on his diplomatic travels, so that even then hinted his future career.

He became active in the youth department of the KDP and was elected to its tenth congress in 1989 to the Central Committee of the DPK. He was re-elected in 1993 and was given a position in the Politburo of the Party.

After the second Gulf War in 1991, he was in negotiations with the Iraqi government. He was elected Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdish Parliament in Arbil in 1996.
