Nelly Aginian

Nelli Aghinjan (Armenian Նելլի Աղինյան; * 4 August 1981 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian chess player.

Aghinjan is a member of the successful Armenian women's national team. In 1996, she played in her hometown of Yerevan their first chess Olympiad. By 2010, she participated in eight chess Olympiads with a personal total score of 28 points from 53 games ( 18, = 20, -15 ). Since 2003 she played this at four European Team Championships. The 2003 European Championship in Plovdiv won Armenia with Nelli Aghinjan as a reserve player. 2007 in Heraklion, the team won a bronze medal, including Aghinjans victory on the third board in the last round against the almost 200 Elo points higher -evaluated Georgian Nino Churzidse contributed a 2-2 reached by Armenia. In the team's World Cup 2007 in Yekaterinburg, she played also on board three, at the World Team Championship 2009 in Ningbo on board four. Chess club plays in Armenia for MIKA Yerevan, with whom she won the European Club Cup 2006 in joining.

2001 Nelli Aghinjan International Women's Champion (WIM), since May 2005, it bears the title of Grand Master of the women ( WGM ). The standards for the WGM title it achieved in 2004 in two tournaments ( category 10 and 11) in Alushta with over-fulfillment as well as the A2 tournament Aeroflot Opens in Moscow in 2005 ( category 9).
