Nelson Cuevas

Nelson Rafael Cuevas Amarilla ( born January 10, 1980 in Asunción ) is a Paraguayan football player. He is best known as the Nelson Cuevas or by his nickname Pipino.

Career

Cuevas first played at Club Atlético Tembetary, a lower class club Paraguay before he was discovered and the age of eighteen to Argentina moved to River Plate. After a short break here in the PRC at the Shanghai International in 2003, he moved in the spring of 2004, Club America to Mexico, but was initially awarded for two years at CF Pachuca. He subsequently worked at FC Santos and Club América, he is without a club since the summer of 2009. In summer 2009 he completed a trial at Hannover 96 and also came in a friendly against Arsenal used. An obligation did not materialize

Cuevas plays in the national team of his country. He took part in both the 2002 World Cup, as well as at the 2006 World Cup. At the tournament in 2002 he scored two goals against Slovenia, which meant getting ahead on goal difference against South Africa. In 2006 he met upon presentation of Roque Santa Cruz to a 2-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago.
