Neper (crater)

Napier is a big crater on the far eastern edge of the lunar front side, south of the Mare Marginis and north of Mare Smythii. The crater has pronounced terracing of the walls and a central peak.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British mathematician John Napier.
